This photo is by a man named Lou O’bedlam. I’ve lost countless hours just sitting and looking at his portraits. I also love reading his stories that go along with them but unfortunately that makes me feel like I know these people he photographs and I get bummed when I remember that I do not.
I wrote him once, not really expecting a response but lo and behold, there was a rather lengthy and informational response to my question about how he finds the courage to approach strangers and ask if it would be alright if he took their picture. I’ve always wished I had the courage to do such things, I don’t know maybe one day.
